The Healthcare Innovation (HI) Lab is a near-functional primary care simulation facility at the University of Texas at Arlington.
We’ve built the HI Lab to support research in simulation, education, and technology in individual and population health across the continuum of care, from patient homes to clinics to hospitals.
Design is iterative!
The HI Lab was designed to be a flexible, forward-facing research and educational space. It has been equipped with technology that will allow for innovative research on emerging problems in primary care, including:
- Location tracking technology for patient and staff flow studies
- Telehealth technology
- Modular, mobile equipment for exam room redesign simulations
- Point of care patient education technology studies
- Eye tracking technology for user studies
